What coral changes
Its coloured light travels through water, fades with distance and murk, and is blocked by rock. A sighted animal can therefore receive different evidence near a coral-lit site.
What it does not change
Coral does not replace film, create nutrition or define species clearance. Rock and carved water remain the physical habitat.
How to use it
Light junctions, nurseries and striking geological forms after the habitat works. Use several restrained emitters rather than making every surface equally bright.
Why it remains visible
The Enceladus preset removes useful downwelling light but keeps local physical emitters. Observer illumination is separate, so the dark ecology remains watchable.
